Direct beach access is a big plus. Room cleanliness left something to be desired. We enjoyed canoeing nearby. Parking is chaotic during busy times.

The location is amazing, right on the beach with a great view. Their beach access allows for swimming and kayaking. The room cleanliness could really use some improvement; we found hair in the bathroom upon arrival. Noise from nearby events was disruptive at night. For the price, it's decent, but you might want to check other options nearby if you prefer peace.

During my stay, I really enjoyed the stunning views of Lake Tahoe and the convenience of being just a block off Chestnut Street, surrounded by fantastic dining options like Heidi's Pancake House and Freshies Restaurant, which are all just a short walk away, not to mention the nearby beautiful South Lake Tahoe Beach and the relaxing firepits for nightly s'mores! Plus, the beds were comfy, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. However, the hotel could use a little more attention to cleanliness in some outdoor areas, but the overall experience was still enjoyable!

The room had a decent size with adjoining rooms, making it feel spacious for our family. The partial lake view was a lovely surprise. we were disturbed by loud guests until 3:30 AM both nights. The bed was comfortable enough, but the thin towels were disappointing. The shower wasn’t clean, and we encountered hair. There were issues with parking upon arrival, and the lack of communication with the front desk was frustrating. The fireplace didn’t work, leaving the room chilly.

Location is stellar. Mornings by the lake, coffee in hand—pure bliss. Staff at check-in were exceptional. The room was clean and well-decorated, with a charming fireplace. the crowning issue was the noise. Positioned near a busy parking lot, evenings transformed into chaos. Partiers disrupted our peace, and the lack of crowd control was disappointing. Facilities should cater to paying guests; wristband access is a must. The beach itself, while beautiful, was overly crowded with non-guests. Amenities like a microwave were missing, and comfort level of beds could use attention. Priced steeply for the location, but the experience fell short. Will seek a quieter retreat next time.

pleasant stay, pleasant surroundings with a beautiful lake view from my upgraded room and convenient access to a nearby Safeway for quick supplies.
It was perfect.

The room was tiny and outdated, the pool was freezing cold, and I could hear everything from the parking lot. Plus, the noise from the beach crowd kept me awake at night.

The Beach Retreat & Lodge offers a fantastic beachfront location and dog-friendly atmosphere. While the rooms were clean and well-kept, upgrades are needed for the facilities, and some staff interactions were lacking. it's a decent choice for families seeking beach access and watersport activities.

Excellent fit for a weekend vacation in South Lake Tahoe with good price value. Loved the private beach area.

The private beach has an A+ view of the lake and mountains. There are firepits and free s’mores every night—who can say no to that?
The room was a bit cramped for my liking.

Rooms were basic but clean and updated, offering a nice view—too bad it was mostly blocked by parked cars. The beach and lake access was appealing, though marred by overflowing trash and no nearby bins. On-site dining options like the Tiki bar were nice, but we faced long waits and understaffing issues, which dampened the experience. As for noise, two wild wedding parties kept us up well into the night, and staff seemed absent when we needed help. The lack of proper parking monitoring was frustrating too. I expected more for the price paid.

Great beach access and pool, but messy parking and room cleanliness could improve.

Staying here gave us easy access to the lake beach, which was just a short stroll away, and we loved that we could walk to multiple restaurants, like the delightful Freshies Restaurant and A Cup Of Cherries within minutes, making our anniversary celebration truly special; the outdoor amenities, including fire pits for complimentary s'mores, added a great touch to our stay. The clean room provided nice amenities like a fireplace and a private balcony with stunning views of the beach and mountains, but it would be even better if there were a complimentary breakfast option available.

The beach view was amazing, perfect for watching the sunset. The hotel's location was spot-on, right in the heart of everything.
The room lacked a microwave, which was a bit inconvenient. Some areas of the room could have been cleaner.

Enjoyed watching the sunset at The Boathouse on the Pier. Great beach access. Too bad building D had the perfect ice-cold shower challenge.
Warmed up for 20 minutes just to experience a refreshing ice-cold shower. Brilliant idea!

Perfect location with shops and restaurants within walking distance. The private beach access was awesome, and the tiki bar added great fun for the kids.
It wasn’t exactly cheap, but the experience was worth it.

Had a blast enjoying the lake front room and easy access to the lake for a stroll. Perfect location with Safeway nearby and various dining options within walking distance. The free s'mores kit by the bonfire was a sweet touch for a cozy evening.
Rooms seemed a tad cramped and in need of sprucing up, with worn-out carpets and dated decor. Housekeeping could be sharper, as we had to switch rooms midway due to cleanliness issues.

Our family had a fantastic time exploring the powdery slopes of South Lake Tahoe's stunning ski resorts. The breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe from the ski trails truly blew our minds, making it a memorable experience for all of us.
My children wanted more interactive kids' activities available at the hotel.

Our recent stay at Beach Retreat & Lodge had some highs and lows. The room we stayed in, B224, had a minimalist style which we really liked. The bed was comfortable with a firm mattress, and the pillows were filled with real soft down - a nice touch. The bathroom was well-stocked with refillable bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. The room was clean and everything worked perfectly. We also appreciated the gas fireplace and the private balcony with a stunning view of the beach, lake, and mountains. there were some drawbacks. The outside balcony area of our room was half-painted and seemed to be covered in bugs, not a pleasant sight. there was no continental breakfast provided, and the lack of a microwave was a slight inconvenience for us. The blow dryer in the room was also faulty and caught my hair on fire - definitely a scary moment. On the property, we found the carpets in the room to be quite dirty, which was not ideal, especially with kids playing barefoot. The general cleanliness of the room left something to be desired. And on our last day, the cleaning staff mistakenly entered our room and threw out personal items, which was frustrating. the location of Beach Retreat & Lodge was great, and the staff were friendly for the most part. cleanliness issues and maintenance issues like the faulty blow dryer were noticeable. It was a mixed experience, but the beautiful view from the balcony almost made up for the shortcomings.

Staying at Beach Retreat & Lodge at Tahoe was fantastic. the location right on the beach was unbeatable. We enjoyed the option of boat rentals and the friendly staff. having a large grocery store right across the street made it very convenient. the rooms were clean, and the beds were comfortable. the free shuttle service to local attractions, including Heavenly, was a great bonus, especially with the heavy snowfall.
Couldn't find any faults at all 😊

Felt well taken care of, nothing to complain about.

My friends and I had an epic time hitting the slopes at South Lake Tahoe's amazing ski resorts! The powdery snow, crazy chutes, and views of Lake Tahoe were mind, blowing. We also loved cruising on the blue, green waters of the lake , endless summer fun vibes all around!
Wish there was a cool beach party scene nearby for the ultimate young vibe.

We had an amazing time at this hidden gem in South Lake Tahoe! The staff were super friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay great. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and had a beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed the beach tiki bar and the convenience of having everything we needed in one location. Even though we visited during fire season, we can't wait to return and take advantage of all the outdoor activities!
The fireplace in our room didn't work.
